PROJECTS

The Sanford Museum Committee is planning or currently working on the following projects:

Building preservation

We have a list of much-needed repairs that need to be done to preserve the integrity of our building, including repairs to the roof, windows, and major structural repairs to the south wall. We have adequate funds to address some of the minor needs, but we estimate that we will need to raise approximately $200,000 make the larger repairs to the structure. Those that would like to donate can do so by clicking on the donation button on the bottom of the page. Thank you for your consideration.

Digital Preservation

In partnership with the San Luis Valley Museum Association, we are looking forward to moving some of our records and photo collections into a digital format.

Cabin

The first log cabin in Sanford has been moved to a site next to the museum (780 Main Street). When it is ready for visitors, it will be furnished much as it was when it was in use by its early occupants.
